Back to glasses.

After wearing contacts for a while and then running out, I figured it was time to hit up the eye doctor to renew my prescription.  Turns out I am now farsighted on top of my astigmatism.  Isn’t getting old fantastic?

I did not like wearing contacts, at the end of the day it was just one more thing I had to do before bed and in the morning.  It is hard enough waking up at 8:20 and making it to work by 9:00 every morning when you shower..  The last thing I need to do is fight contacts into my eyes.  What a royal pain in the ass.  Not to mention, you can’t just pass out with them in.  Most of the time, I just would just skip putting them in and just sit closer to my monitor at work.

I also wasn’t a huge fan of wearing glasses, until I found out that Oakley had some sweet stuff.   Thanks to the folks at the Oakley Action Sports Marketing Department I’m now seeing things clear in a pair of Oakley prescription glasses. No more headaches when I’m staring at a monitor for hours on end at Freeskier, and best of all I don’t have to settle with a lame pair of lame glasses from Lens Crafters or Pearle Vision.

So, here is the new four-eyed Dave.  30% nerdier, 10% more sophisticated and 100% better vision.

Special thanks to Greg Strokes and Alyssa Gross at Oakley for the generosity.  Much appreciated!

Your vision must not be that good because you forgot to take the hologram logo sticker off the inside brim of your hat. Unless you intentionally left it there because its what the cool kids are doing these days.

Nope, that is what the cool kids are doing these days. You just wouldn’t know Smitty, you work at a bank in a cubical all day.
