When you’ve got a limited amount of prizes to give away at an event you need to get creative with how you give them away. This weekend at the Sacramento stop of Ski Dazzle I invented a new game called “Fishing for Prizes.”

I think it was more fun for me than it was for the audience. It felt evil, but in a good way. Dance puppets, dance.

If you’re wondering what I’ve got on my head, it’s a paper hat from In-N-Out Burger. I wore it the entire day. Why? Because In-N-Out kicks ass.

Many thanks to the dudes and dudettes at The Denver Egotist for featuring the Epic Infomercial this morning. Click the image to jump over to their corner of the interwebs.

Found a 2005 Audi A4 this evening that I’m really feeling. It’s a 2.0 turbo, quattro (that’s Audi for all-wheel-drive), 6 speed, leather, sunroof and a bunch of other options that are probably too nice for my own good. The odometer reads 49,000 miles and the dealer is asking $18,000.

So, do I want the brand new Subaru Impreza 2.5i premium or the 2005 Audi A4?

Weigh in on the comments.

Instead of issuing a press release about opening up for the 2009/2010 ski season with a triple line of park jumps, Breckenridge shot a video with their team riders a day before the mountain officially opened for business to show everyone what was available on opening day… the video has 8,658 unique views on Freeskier.com as of this morning. That number does not take into account video embeds on 3rd party sites / blogs, etc.

Had this message been delivered via a press release it would have probably only seen 1,500 to 2,000 views tops.

Awesome work, Breckenridge!

Freeskier / SMP was just contracted to produce a commercial to promote the Vail Resorts Epic Pass. Here’s the video.

Infomercial legend Marty Lempkin, author of “You’re Gonna Love It,” talks about his latest endorsement, The EPIC PASS.

Amazing work by Mike Thomas, Colby James West, Matt Ciuffetti and everyone else that had a hand in the project.

Mission accomplished…

Just heard from Progressive about the fate of 2 Fast 2 Digital… She’s been totaled.  Bummer.  So, time to buy a new car.  Been doing some shopping, crunching some numbers and trying to figure out what I can afford without putting myself into a massive amount of crippling debt.

Figured I should start at the Subaru dealership.  I need something with all wheel drive and can handle snow.  Since I live in Boulder I’m required to own a road bike,  Subaru, have a Labrador and shop at Whole Foods.  I’m allergic to dogs so I’ll never know the joy of having “man’s best friend” but everything else is essentially on lockdown.

A 2010 Subaru Impreza 2.5i Premium.  My new ride?

Just some shots from my iPhone from this weekend’s travel to San Jose for Ski Dazzle.

I’m a fan of creative advertising. Finding innovative ways to communicate your brand’s message (in my mind) is vital to public perception and the success of your product or service.  That’s why I was excited to see this blog post this morning highlighting some of the most creative examples of print / outdoor advertising.

Fresh Step

Last night, on my way home from the airport after a weekend in Chicago hosting the Ski Dazzle indoor rail jam series I hit a deer. Thankfully, I wasn’t traveling very fast and the deer clipped the side of my car. The airbags stayed put, no other vehicles were involved and I’m fine. Can’t say so much for the deer, he’s as dead as a doornail.
