This is what sunset looks like from my room on the 10th floor of the Excalibur here in Las Vegas.

Not bad, right?

I’m in Las Vegas for the 2009 Snowsports Industries America convention.  I’m not a huge fan of Vegas, to me it’s like a polished terd.  All shiny on the outside, but once you really get into it you find out that its just the same old shit.

Oh well.  At least my friends are here, I’m alive and the parties will be good.

2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser: good performance in front, side, and rear tests and standard electronic stability control.

I just found that out firsthand last night, as I was spinning and rolling a 2007 FJ Cruiser on Highway 93 inbetween Golden and Boulder. Miraculously, I’m fine and so was my passenger.  The car, she’s totaled.

A combination of high winds and icy, windswept snow on the road was to blame according to the accident report.  Thankfully, I was not issued a citation.   Turns out when you drive an SUV with a roof box on top of it the wind can blow it around a little.
My hands are still shaking.

I’m here for X Games.  Been too busy to post.  Things are going great.

Here’s me and Travis Rice at the party we threw last night at the Sky Hotel.

Insane times.  Updates coming, I swear.

Here’s the man of the hour, Matt Margetts gettin’ down on some of the fine fur trim here at the Freeskier X Games party.

I just had a great night of shooting.  I’ll be making a gallery of all the shots when I get some free time here at X Games.

Just rolled into Aspen for X Games, staying at the St. Regis.  No big deal, just a casual $1,850 a night room at the base of Aspen Mountain in the heart of Aspen.

So blessed and excited to be here.  Special thanks to the folks at the St. Regis for hooking it up.

Rogge is here in Boulder, visitin’, enjoyin’ the beautiful weather and ballin’ out of control here at the Amirault pad before we dash off to the X Games and SIA trade show in Las Vegas.

For his first day in town we opted for a casual lunch on Pearl street at the Rio, margaritas were in effect.  Followed up with a mandatory hippie dinner at Whole Foods and then trampolining at the Colorado Athletic Training School.

Video?  Yeah, we’ve got that, courtesy of the Freeskier Magazine helmet cameras.  Pay special attention to the “crotch cam”, numerous claims and super lame moves that we were banging out.

So I was joking around with a friend of mine via e-mail today, just busting her up about why she isn’t coming to our open bar X Games party this week.  I asked if she was just going to sit around her house in Denver watching Lifetime.  That’s when she hit me with this bomb…

I love my Lifetime.  Oh so much.

Lifetime! WHAT? This reminded me of a fantastic video that sums up all the programming on that craptastic network.

If you’re at Sunday River today I would suggest bundling up, or maybe not even going outdoors at all. Actually, at these temperatures I think the safest bet is to just go into hibernation and pray for the best.

Just added another link to the “Friends of MMP” sidebar, MikeRogge.com.

MMP regulars know who Mike is.  He’s always commenting, lives the dream in the ski industry as a pen for hire and is an all around great guy that I have the pleasure of spending the majority of my January with.

See you at X Games and SIA, buddy.  I’ll come grab you at the airport, or at least send an intern in a Toyota for you.
